Personality.
Dawn is the kind of person superficially more content to live her life inside of the small, familiar boxes she's always known rather than venture beyond any of her carefully constructed comfort zones, never mind these are all mostly bounds she was raised within rather than developed on her own. Think of a repressed Christian tradwife soccer mom β although she currently has no actual children β who married her high school boyfriend not out of love, exactly, but because it was simply the done thing.
But they live a good, solidly upper middle-class life, within a community small enough for most everyone to know each other (as well as each other's business). She is very involved in her church's affairs, helping to organize events, fund-raise, as well as baking goodies every week for Sunday services, and is active within a number of ancillary groups (charity orgs through her church; (mostly church-) ladies book club; neighborhood watch; youth group volunteer; probably a morality league of some kind; etc. and so forth) and neurotic hobbies.
It could be said that she keeps herself busy like this as a distraction from her less wholesome thoughts and inclinations, anything that could separate her from the Helen Lovejoys and Maude Flanders' of the world as a person with yearnings and desires of her ownβ perhaps, for instance, she would quite enjoy traveling beyond her hometown and state to see more of the world; perhaps the idea of becoming pregnant actually terrifies her; perhaps she secretly enjoys reading seedy thrillers and steamy bodice rippers that she hides in a shoebox deep at the back of her closet and regularly donates to the Salvation Army a couple towns over; perhaps she has never orgasmed except for one time at summer camp under the hands of her camp bestie Evie, and rarely tends to truly enjoy sex with her husband unless she can, on some vague, subconscious level, pretend he's a woman... which could mean nothing...

visual; She's petite; slender and not overly curvy β though not entirely un-curvy, either β with long brown hair she usually wears in a ponytail or braid. Large eyes, a slightly upturned nose, and lightly freckled.
attire; Very fond of pastels and so-called "Easter colors;" pinks, yellows, lavenders, duck-egg blues, spring-y greens. Wine and liquor tones as well, such as creams and ivorys, burgundy reds, and mahogany browns. Often wears long skirts and dresses in tasteful old-fashioned styles (think mid-century housewives) but will also wear slacks or high-waisted jeans. She prefers sensible heels and loafers, generally, but won't hesitate to wear uncomfortable shoes if the occasion calls for it.
